Run DMT’s Gracie’s Gear Giveaway

For the Gasparilla marathon, Gracie’s Gear hooked me up with the most amazing running tank top ever!

But you know the old rule of thumb for races: You’re not supposed to try anything new during a race.  But when Gracie Gear graciously gave me this long lean contoured running tank, I couldn’t resist and I simply had to test out this fabulous product during the marathon.

I first fell in love with its fit.  Its contour shape hugged my torso like a glove without feeling too snug.

Next, I desperately needed the extra pocket. With my SPIbelt filled to maximum capacity, I simply needed more storage space.

Since the Gracie’s Gear long tank features a flexible Power Pouch, it held my cell, my ID and two Cliff shots which left my SPIbelt less bulky and more manageable.  When the rain came down harder, this Power Pouch also held my camera.

But I have to admit, I was a little nervous about wearing a top that covered my stomach.  The sports bras I usually wear leave my torso exposed and I was worried that I could overheat in my new Gracie’s Gear Long Tank.  However, the MRT technology (moisturereleasetechnology) built into the tank really did leave me feeling cool.

As my running partners will attest, I am constantly knocking my iPod off myself while run.  But not anymore!  The little loop on the shoulder kept my iPod cord in place without making feel too tied down or trapped.

I absolutely love this Gracie’s Gear long tank and to spread the love, Gracie’s Gear is sponsoring a giveaway.

You knew I’d be the first to this one! 🙂

I’ve seen these and I just haven’t had the courage to try them. Even if I don’t win, just hearing from you that they are actually comfortable might inspire me to try them out myself. You did look fabulous in them in your Gasparilla pics–an amazing feat, considering the weather.

I like the piping on them, especially the turquoise. You know, just sayin’.

If I were to win this awesome giveaway I would be giving this to my youngest sister. She is the runner in our family. She would love this tank. I think she would like the turqouise color. Thanks for the giveaway.

I actually use this tip all the time:

    Lower Body

    1. Quadriceps (Front of Upper Legs)

    a. Bend one leg
    b. Grab foot with same side hand
    c. Make sure that knee is in-line with other knee
    d. Hold for 10-30 seconds

You sounds like a commercial 🙂 But I LOVE that top! It’s so hard to carry things on runs. Stuffing gels down sports bras? Hoping that your race pictures won’t come out looking like you have a boob job that went bad?!?! Love it!

Comment to the post below – you’re daughters are so cute!

Visited emwomen.com and found forums and good articles from various writers, topical subjects. Very slow-loading site!

I went to the training tips and looked at Gracie’s hamstring stretch. I like it. I usually stretch my hamstrings with the seated stretch–one leg bent, one straight, bending from the hips to reach toward the toes.

But the standing hamstring stretch is much more useful pre-run. I’m definitely trying that tomorrow.

    ooooh i want!

    red please, size m.

i do the regular and side planks usually once/week, although i don’t know how that girl can do them on concrete. my elbows already scream for more than just my yoga mat. they are a great core strengthener though!

i will have to get on the other entry-methods soon b/c the competition is going to be stiff!

    how awesome denise! 🙂

Love these tanks! I think that I like the blue one in a small or xs if they have it! (no boobs) All of the stretching tips were great and reminded me that I need to stretch more!! I need to run with you again before the 10k:)

I would like the red in a medium. I saw these at the 08 and 09 disney marathons, and think they are great. They also partner with Adventure Babe in their booth space occassionaly, and their Ts are cute.

At the EM site, I saw the Gracie’s run/walk training info for sale – didn’t know about those. I also read about their Redefining beautiful essay contest, but my daughter’s don’t live in the right county to enter. And they have 1,279 members, whereas my ning site has 31, so I need to get crackin!

    Hey Other Denise!
I LOVE this long tank…thanks for the great new giveaway. I posted a link on my blog for ya, and if I win, would love the purple. I’m kind of in between the sizes listed on Gracie’s site, so I think I’d better go up to a medium. I’m off to check out tips and then return for another shot at it!

    Hey again,
Denise here back from visitation to Gracie’s Gear training tips. The stretching exercises are all pretty basic for anyone doing workouts…the upper body ones were those I always did before and after kickboxing (I was an instructor in another life–five years ago!) The lower body ones…especially quads and ham, are especially important to runners. I liked she didn’t forget the calves and hip flexors. But dang it, get off the concrete on those strength training moves! Ouch.

I was referred to your blog by Denise W. and this tanks looks great! This tank in a x-large size in the purple color would be awesome.

I hadn’t worked out for quite some time due to health issues. Now I don’t seem to be able to find the motivation for working out like I used to. I’m thinking a super-cute tank like this might be just the thing to get me back in the mood. Sometimes it’s the little things, you know?

Thanks for checking out my blog yesterday. I’d love to win the purple in size small (matches my favorite running shorts!).

Love your 26.2 reasons. 🙂 Inspires me to write my own list.

Also love the turquoise tank! 🙂
