I loved this post, I tend to hang on to my old shoes as well. Right now I mow the yard in a pair of shoes that I retired from running 2 years ago.

i am way attached to the shoes i bq’d in. my friend asked if i was going to have them bronzed, lol. (not quite, but maybe framed…) i’m never getting rid of those!

I stay under $90 on all shoes and half of that is always a gift card from the sport teams I coach…they get me a gift each season and I spend to seasons of stuff on equipment for the teams I coach (balls, cones and whatever) and the other two on me…I am an Asics guy…

It’s sad to say, but I can totally relate to this post. I definitely get emotionally attached to a lot of my shoes. I want to save them for sentimental reasons, so I end up with a bunch of smelly pieces of rubber laying around the house. Sometimes I even feel sorry for shoes that I’ve trained in, but never run a race – like they’ve put in the time, but never experienced the satisfaction of the finish line. LOL

LOL…great post. It IS so hard, isn’t it? I ran in one pair of Sauconys so long, I did myself in with plantar fasciitis. I just couldn’t find another pair that fit like them (they discontinued the line I wore).
