Unable to Bear Foot

Lori yelled at me for not sharing this other weird pain I have been experiencing besides my shins.  Since my sister’s wedding, I have this terrible pain on the bumpy bone on the side of my foot, which I believe was caused by these ridiculously Steve Madden heels she made us wear.  I couldn’t even walk in them.  By the end of the night, my left foot was throbbing.

Weeks later, I still feel pain and I think I may have a bunion or a really bad bruise, but I’m not sure.  After my race on Saturday, the side of my foot was killing me.

I need to go back to The Running Center and have them look at my shoes.  Maybe they’re too tight?  The odd thing is that my shoes and my feet were fine before the wedding and those cursed 4.5 inch heels.

Cool Running has some suggestions for foot pain.

So what do you think?  Should I see a podiatrist?

Which bone? Just under the ankle or near your big toe? I assume it is the inside of your foot because there shouldn’t be any visible bones on the outside of your foot.
Bunion should be easy to self diagnose. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunion
Could be a broken bone as well because there aren’t too many “bumpy” bones.

It’s the bone near my big toe. From the link you posted, looks like rest was a good choice. I think I may try one of those Dr. Scholl’s bunion cushion things, too.

Uh, yes. I don’t fool around with things that screw with my running.

    But that’s just me.

i have no suggestion so i would take someone’s advice from above.

while those shoes are cute, you should have told your sis you have a running career to focus on and you can’t be prancing around in ridiculously high heels. 😉

hope the bunion pads do the trick! take it to the doc if the bunion treatment doesn’t seem to work?

That’s the same bone my pain was in…all that running and high heels…I thought mine was a bunion, too, so I went to a podiatrist to give me a definitive diagnosis. That’s how I found out I had arthritis! You might want to go see an expert.
