Musical Monday: The Time Traveler’s Wife

I’ve booked my sitter ages ago to ensure I could see The Time Traveler’s Wife on opening night on August 14.  I absolutely loved the novel, which has since become my favorite read of all time.

When I saw the trailer on TV the other night, I thought Carolina Liar’s Show Me What I’m Looking For was a perfect match to this amazing story.  When I first heard this song on the radio, I instantly loved it, but when, I heard it as the music accompaniment to the Time Traveler’s Wife trailer, I got goose bumps.

 Since I love soundtracks, I searched Amazon to purchase an advance copy of the album only to discover that Carolina Liar it is not included on the soundtrack even though it has been featured in the TV spots.  Instead, the soundtrack is full of music scores by Mychael Danna and one lonely track by Lifehouse, which has been featured in many of the trailers for the film as well.

Therefore, for this Musical Monday, I made my own small Time Traveler’s Wife soundtrack featuring Carolina Liar and Lifehouse.

    I like how you “booked [the] sitter ages ago to ensure [you] could see The Time Traveler’s Wife on opening night.”

    Do you have a contingency plan, in case the sitter is late?

    I’ve not read the book and haven’t decided if I’ll see the movie (the cinematography looks pretty good, though). What do you think about the casting of Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana as the main characters?

      I didn’t mention that the sitter is sleeping over??? LOL

      Definitely read the book before seeing the movie! I like the casting. I saw Patrick Dempsey as Henry, and Eric Bana is a similar look. I think Rachel McAdams is a good pick, too.

      There are so many theaters in our area with different show times available. We have several “contingency plans” and options if the sitter is late. 😉

    I just started reading the book. I am not sure if I will be done by Friday though. I hope to finish it up and get a sitter and go to the movies. Thanks for sharing this. I may have to go and by the sound track…

    I finished reading the book last week and am anxiously awaiting the release. I won’t go on opening night but it looks like a great movie. I’ve never heard of California Liar but I love the song!

    Is Allan going with you? Maybe we can double. I really want to see this too. I loved the book and even got Angie to read it.

    I love the CL song. That was a free one I downloaded off itunes when it first came out.

    Maybe I’ll start a music monday. I need reasons to post to my blog everyday. 😉

      Yep, DH is short for darling husband or dear husband, but when my DH reads any of my posts out loud to me, the prefers the term “d*ckhead”. No lie!

    I cant wait to see this film, its not out in my country yet…it looks like a beautiful story. Both songs are so melodic too, nice choice! 🙂

    The Time Travelers’ Wife is one of those books that I will never ever forget. I read it a few years ago and it just slayed me. I was nothing more than a puddle at the end. Bringing a BIG box of tissue with me to the movies! {and my daughter so I don’t have to weep alone, LOL}
