New York Christmas

My husband and I are leaving for the Big Apple this Thursday to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary.  Top on our “To Do” list in the city is to tour Top of the Rock and ice skate at Rockefeller Plaza.  I’ve also requested a horse-drawn buggy ride around Central Park and then more ice skating in the park.

However, we’re pretty much going to hang out at 30 Rock this weekend.  I’ve been dying to see a taping of Saturday Night Live for years.  We don’t have tickets, but we’re prepared to wait in the stand-by line in freezing temperatures very early Saturday morning.  I’ve already warned promised Allan lots of coffee and other favors for being a good sport.

We’re also hoping to catch a taping of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.  Then, we’re bound for Broadway of course, but we haven’t picked a show yet.

Lots of fun in store for a chilly, Christmas Anniversary in NYC!  I can’t wait!

And because I’m so excited about our New York Christmas, I’ve selected New York Christmas by Rob Thomas for this week’s Christmas Musical Monday.

Have a blast! If you are willing to stand in line in the cold, don’t forget about the TKTS both for cheap Broadway seats.

I’ve actually asked Brian to never take me on a horse and buggy ride. I know they are meant to be cozy or romantic, but to me they just smell like poo and that ruins the ambience.

Awwww… what a lovely anniversary that will be with all the plans. I hope you don’t stand in line too long. Have fun and Happy anniversary to you both.

What a fun weekend. I am soo jealous about ice skating and the carriage ride especially at Christmas time. RunningBetty’s comment reminded of the Seinfield episode where Kramer gets a carriage and feeds the horse beans. Are you going to the big Christmas tree too? Have a GREAT time and can’t wait to hear ALL about it.

I love NYC! Have fun, wishing you both a happy anniversary. 🙂

Rob Thomas.. now that’s someone I haven’t listened to in a while. Makes me want to dig out those old Matchbox Twenty cds.

Lucky you! My Dad & his girlfriend are doing the same. Tried to talk him into the Tim Burton exhibit at the MoMa… those of us stuck at home have to live vicariously ;D Have a grand time

Our mutual blog friend, Kim, just got back from her birthday weekend in NYC! Her highlight was seeing “Wicked” on Broadway.
I highly recommend seeing the city from Top of the Rock. What a view. Hope you guys have fun, and Happy Anniversary!!!
