Juneathon 2012 – Day 4

Juneathon dude logoToday, I began triathlon training.  I ran 1.59 miles to my community pool, swam 6 laps and then ran another 1.51 miles
back home.

3.1 miles

Time 29:27

Ave Pace 9:31

Max Pace 7:39

Although I did really well on the running leg, I can’t say the same about my swimming.  It took me about 8 minutes to swim 6 laps (start time 7:07, finish time 7:15).  My swimming technique has become really sloppy over the last 4 years.  Plus, as I swam, I tired easily and I had to rest between laps.  Yep, I gotta a lot of work ahead of me before the Chaotic Coteeman in August. *sigh*

On Wednesday, I’ll do another run/swim to see if there is any improvement.  I hope so.  I’d like to get back up to 8-12 laps again before the end of summer.  I’m hoping my muscles just needed to wake up and remember how to swim again.  I like to think of my muscles like my children.  They forget how to swim during the winter months, but once they get back in the pool a few times, they’ll remember how to swim again.

I also did a set of #sexylegs exercises, as well as 120 ab exercises and 30 push-ups (10 manly ones and 20 girlie ones).

Tomorrow is Track Tuesday, which means speed work of 4 x 0.25 mile sprints.  If you are doing any sprints this week, I’d love for you to swing back here to link up and share.  Each week, the Track Tuesday linky stays open until the following Monday.
