Juneathon 2012 – Day 11

Juneathon dude logoToday was a run/swim day. I ran 1.59 to the pool but forgot to hit “lap” to see how my running would compare before and after the swim.

3.1 miles

Time 28:21

Ave Pace 9:08

Max Pace 7:10

I really impressed myself on the swim too.  I swam 6 laps in 6 minutes.  BOOYAH!  That’s what I’m talking about!  So I decided to do two more laps for a total of 8 laps in 8 minutes!  Awwwwwww yeaaaaaah…that’s how I roll, baby.

Out of curiosity, I went back and checked my swim time from the Chaotic Coteeman sprint triathlon from four years ago (3:18).  Wow.  Wait to deflate a good feeling, D.  Just call me DMT Downer.  Waaa waaaa waaaaaaaa.

No worries.  I got 8 weeks to get back there.

To build my ego and my legs up, I did some #sexylegs reps.  I actually did 2 sets of each or 40 reps of each exercise, except for the burpees (only 20 reps) and wall-sit (one 60-second sit).  Between the swimming and the #sexylegs stuff, I’m already noticing a difference in my legs and saddlebags.  It’s amazing how changing things up a little leads to big results.

And just for the hell of it, I also did 140 ab exercises and 30 pushups (all girlie).

Tomorrow is Track Tuesday, which means speed work of 4 x 0.25 mile sprints.  If you are doing any sprints this week, I’d love for you to swing back here to link up and share.  Each week, the Track Tuesday linky stays open until the following Monday.

I love your blog!! You remind me of myself. I have a 19 year old, 15 year old, 13 year old and a 22 month old. I’ve been with my husband for 8 years. I discovered my passion for running about 4 years ago as well, then I took about a year off when I was pregnant. Got back to it about 6 months after having my baby and ran 2 half marathons last year. I’m currently training for a 10k trail run in July and a sprint tri in August. I’ve never done a tri, but have always been a swimmer, am now a runner and believe I can handle the bike ride (we occassionally go out for a long ride). We are mostly running now though. I”ve hit a lul and am not losing any weight at all, in fact sometimes I’m gaining and I think it’s because all I’m really doing is running. I really like your 6 steps for sexy legs this summer with the sit ups and girlie push ups added, I think if I add that in 3-4 times a week and hit the pool maybe 3 times a week, I may notice a difference.. I have no trouble eating healthy, but am always quite hungry will the running we do and the running around after the kids I do! If you get a chance, feel free to check out my blog.. I found you on the Juneathon site! Happy running! http://funmomontherun78.blogspot.com/
