Aquatica Review {and Giveaway}

I have to admit.  Other than spray grounds and splash pads, my children and I have never been to a water park.  Before our visit to Aquatica last month, I was very afraid of the unknown.  Would I lose my children in the expansive flume fun? Or worse, would they drown?

Our guided Aquatica Orlando Splash Up tour through the park helped alleviate any fears I carried on my shoulders along with my beach bag.  For starters, I learned Aquatica offers life vests for infants to adults.  My two young non-swimmers could at least stay buoyant while playing in the water and the handle on my two year old’s vest would help tether him to me.

I also learned that Aquatica offers very reasonably priced swim lessons ($49.99/$44.99 for pass members) that run for 5 weeks for children as young as 6 month to adult.  Honestly, if we lived closer to Aquatica I would have totally jumped on that!  With the Florida resident weekday passes ($59.99), the swim lessons are such an unbelievable deal!

Once our tour was complete, my oldest daughter wanted to wet her feet on the Dolphin Plunge.  As Aquatica explains on their website, “Two side-by-side enclosed tube slides send guests racing through an underwater world that is home to a playful pod of beautiful black-and-white Commerson’s Dolphins.  Known for their playful nature and electrifying speed, you will see them racing right alongside you as you zoom by.”

My ten year old would certainly vouch for that!  After her plunge, she happily reported about the dolphins that greeted her as she slid past.

While we waited for big sister to return, my two youngest children and I enjoyed splashing about in the pools and smaller slides at the Kata’s Kookaburra Cove and Walkabout Waters.

Although little man loved the water launchers and the boat, I loved the many extra sets of eyes the lifeguards offered.

Thankfully, all three of my children enjoyed the wave pools.

My oldest daughter taught the little man how to ride the waves…

…but I think he enjoyed coasting through the Roa Rapids and watching the SeaWorld’s Kraken roller coaster more.

The kids and I had a wonderful time and we can’t wait to return to the park.  Yes, Aquatica definitely put my fears of flumes and water parks behind me.

    Definitely need to try out Kookabura with my 5-year old. This looks right up his alley, especially the water cannons.
