Random Thoughts about Wind, WooHoos and unTrack Tuesday

So there seems to be a theme happening this week because I’m bit behind in my posts.  I’m not going to give excuses or go into a great deal of detail but I will say that I have a lot going on at the moment.  Hopefully things will settle down by the end of the week.

Between being busy and the threat of TS Isaac, my training has suffered the hit.  With Isaac, I was forced to rest.

Last Wednesday, I ran 3.1 miles and swam 20 laps.

On Saturday, I ran 9 miles through what I believe to be the beginnings of a tropical storm.  There was some serious wind out there, but I just took it easy and did my best to finish without killing myself.

As much as I wanted to bike on Sunday, Isaac had other plans for me, like staying in my pajamas all day.  Monday was more of the same.  On Tuesday, Isaac winds were still lingering and attempting speedwork in 16 mph winds just didn’t sound like a good idea. So, I chose to run 4 miles instead of sprints.

Although my training has been a little disappointing this week, there is still plenty to celebrate.  Recently, Run DMT was listed as #2 in the 50 Best Blogs for Post-Pregnancy Weight Loss.  What an honor!  Woohoo!

In other news and woohoos, I was selected to be a Verizon Wireless Ambassador.  For the next three months, I will review and share my honest feedback and experiences with a top-of the-line HTC Incredible, which is perfect name for this little device.  This phone is truly incredible.

I am in love with my new phone.

For me, I can’t believe the speed of the phone due to its 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon S4 processor.  Before I made any phone calls, I downloaded all my favorite apps (Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, FourSquare, etc.) and almost instantly they appeared on the homescreen.  And thanks to Verizon’s 4G network is 100% 4G LTE (the gold standard of wireless technology), I have lightning speed almost everywhere.

Just last week, I participated in a webinar hosted by our Verizon support team to learn all the cool features of the phone which only intensified my love.  In the webinar, I learned how to create a folder for all my social network apps, so I don’t have a gazillion little widgets all over the homescreen.  I just love the appearance of looking organized!

But enough about my phone!

Did the weather ruin your training plans?  What small victories or celebrations are you celebrating this week?
