Fun Some Nights and SeaWorld’s Summer Nights

*Disclaimer: My family and I received meal vouchers and one-day admission to SeaWorld‘s Summer Nights in exchange for my review.  The lyrics photos and opinions shared are my own.*

A couple of weekends ago, my family and I visited SeaWorld for an exclusive Summer Nights Kick-Off Party.

We had some serious fun at SeaWorld’s Summer Nights, but every time I read “Summer Nights”, I couldn’t help myself from singing Some Nights by FUN with slightly modified lyrics, of course.  What better time than Music Monday to share my revised Some Nights lyrics?

Summer Nights at SeaWorld riding Manta
And Journey to Atlantis in the dark
Icebergs and penguins and wild rides in Antarctica
Shamu Rocks with fireworks and electric guitar
But I still queue up
Wanting one more ride
Wanting one more show with Clyde and Seamore
What do I wait for?
What do I stand for?
Summer Nights, I don’t know.
Call me Kraken.

At the start of the evening, Allana and I rode Manta. I love that Allana recenlty has developed a fondness of rollercoasters and I have a thrill-seeking rollercoaster partner in crime now.

After a quick ride on Manta, we headed over to SeaWorld’s newest exhibit, Antarctica.

In this full-action exhibit, we experienced the epic world of Antarctica through the eyes of a special hero penguin named Puck. SeaWorld’s Antarctica , a toddler friendly ride, combines closer-than-ever animal connections with state-of-the-art interactive ride technologies for adventures that produces a  different experience each time.

“In SeaWorld’s Antarctica , families are transported into a rarely seen, icy world. They’ll feel the majestic grandeur of the South Pole and see it through the penguins’ eyes on an exhilarating, first-of-its-kind family ride. They’ll explore a massive penguin colony in an expanse that envelops them in cool extremes, both above and below the penguins’ icy world.”

After our whirly, wild ride and visiting with the penguins, we grabbed a quick bite to eat the Expedition Café, which offers a menu that stretches the term “southern” to new limits and it serves with a smile.

With Italian, Asian and Southern-American fare, everyone could enjoy a slightly different dinner.  Emmalynn and Liam picked buttered pasta.

I selected stir-fry peppers and steak.

Allana and Allan opted for the orange chicken.

We enjoyed our meals but we especially appreciated an allergen friendly meal.

After dinner, we visited with Clyde and Seamore to experience a SeaWorld’s Summer Nights exclusive.  During Summer Nights, Clyde and Seamore share a satirical show that spoofs other SeaWorld programs.  We rolled in laughter as we watched the Clyde and Seamore cast poke fun at Kraken, One Ocean and Blue Horizon.

Once the sun set, we caught a glimpse of the supermoon and headed to Shamu stadium for Shamu Rocks, a larger-than-life experience where we watched killer whales perform amazing acrobatics to a choreographed rock-n-roll beat.  With a spectacular light show, dancing waterworks and fireworks for the finale, I was truly blown away by this performance.

Just before the close of the park, Allana and I rode a few more rides, including Kraken and Journey to Atlantis while Emmalynn and Liam played in Shamu’s Happy Harbor.  Allana and I were the last guests to ride Kraken.  One last scream under the stars was a great way to end SeaWorld’s Summer Nights.

SeaWorld’s Summer Nights is a nighttime spectacular and the best place to be when the sun sets over SeaWorld. Enjoy Summer Nights every evening until 10:00 p.m. from June 22-August 11, 2013.  Purchase a SeaWorld Fun Card and pay one day to experience the fun for the rest of the year.  Visit SeaWorldParks.com for more information.

And now back to our regular scheduled Music Monday program. For Music Mondays, I’m now teaming up with my good friend and fellow Marathon Mama, Chrissy.
