Music Monday: On Top of the World

When the Suncoast Striders organized a bridge run, I was so there. I hadn’t run the Clearwater bridges since Iron Girl Half Marathon and I was due for good torturing challenge. Running the Clearwater Memorial Bridge and the Sand Key Causeway is tough and never an easy task in the hotter months.

For me the Clearwater bridges represent my constant battle with my running. I get ahead and then something causes me to fall back (sickness, injury, hubby’s traveling schedule, ect.) which forces me to move a bit slower than I want.

No matter what curves life throws at me, all I can do is move forward and keep putting one foot in front of the other.

And it’s a wonderful feeling to have the support of others to cheer you along the way.

When I push myself and finally reach the top of the bridge, I experience such elation. After struggling through steep climbs, a sense of accomplishment overwhelms me.

Once I reach the top, I feel like I’m on top of world and nothing can stop me.

Well, nothing can stop me except for my obsessive need to take photos and selfies.

Read more about my bridge run and other training runs tomorrow in my RANdom thoughts and Track Tuesday post.

What motivates you to keep moving forward and onward? What music is moving you this week?

That song is a great one, so fun!
Seeing that bridge brings back memories of our visit to Sand Key six years ago–such a wonderful place to visit.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Imagine Dragons! They were amazing when they performed at USF Sundome last year. I can’t wait for their next album.

If I was a runner, I think I would prefer the bridges. So pretty and scenic!!
