Music Monday: Ghostbusters and a Halsey Ghost for Halloween

Last week, Rolling Stone reported talks about all-new Ghostbusters movie featuring a female cast. The Ghostbusters reboot will be directed by Paul Feig, famous his blockbuster hit, Bridesmaids. No word on the plot or which female comedians will start in the female reboot, but talks of Kirsten Wiig, Melissa McCarthy top the list. Sadly, Bill Murray is dead set against appearing in the movie although supports a female cast and even suggested a few females to the list, including Emma Stone.

Coincidentally on the heels of the news, my kids and I created a list of our favorite not-so-scary Halloween movies and of course, Ghostbusters topped the list.  Being such a huge Ghostbusters fan, I am beyond ecstatic for an all-female cast and naturally, Kirsten Wiig and Melissa McCarthy were my first picks. I even speculated a plot with these ladies following in the footsteps of their fathers to continue the Ghostbusters business. (If you recall, Bill Murray and Sigorney Weaver had a baby in Ghostbusters II.) I wonder if Slimer will make a cameo?

Speaking of Ghosts, I heard Ghost by Halsey on XM the other day. Her soft haunting, bedroom voice reminds me of Ellie Goulding or Lorde. I enjoyed the new-to-me tune.

RunDMT_Halloween_musicmondayFor the next two Music Mondays, I will be sharing my favorite Halloween tunes and I’d dying to know your favorite spine tingling songs.

What Halloween songs move your spirit?

I love all of the actresses named. How can you go wrong with any of those funny females?! Maya Rudolph needs to be added to the list too.

Ghostbusters is awesome. I love it even after all these years! I must introduce my kids to them!

And I’ll have to look up this Halsey person. Her voice does sound interesting. Thanks! 😉
