Music Monday: Thriller Mombies for Halloween

The next two weeks leading up to my long-awaited NYC marathon dream will be a NIGHTMARE.

While my husband is off traveling for work this week, I have to be in four places at once between blogging functions, chaperoning a field trip, chauffeuring my kids to and from soccer practice and volleyball practice.

On top of the usual flying solo parenting duties, I need to plan and purchase all the items needed for a Halloween-themed trick-or-treating birthday party for my soon to be 13 year old. I also need to buy or create Halloween costumes, plan a class Halloween party and make goodies for my kids’ classes.

Then, somewhere in between all of that I need to train for a marathon.

But before one week before the NYC marathon, I’m running the Halloween Halfathon on Sunday. Are you tired yet just reading all of that?!

I think by the time I run the NYC marathon, I will look like a mombie (mother zombies) featured in this Thriller parody. It’s such a fantastic satire on the life of a mom, especially for a marathon mom on the run like me.

And of course, it wouldn’t be Halloween without the original Michael Jackson’s Thriller. (In case you don’t want to watch the entire fifteen minute mini-movie, the music video starts at 4:40.)

I’ve been waiting for whole life for that parody. Mombies are totally real – I know! And potty training is a nightmare – you cannot convince me otherwise.

The toddler song was fun, and I love Michael Jackson’s Thriller. It’s been ages since I’ve chased a toddler because my kids are 26, 24, and 21 years old. You’ll get there one day.
