The holidays are here! Families everywhere will be making their lists and checking it twice; planning holiday dinners and get togethers.
With all that planning happening this time of year, it’s important for families to think about college planning as well. As a parent of a Freshman, college seems so far off, but there is no time like the present to take advantage of the Open Enrollment period for Florida Prepaid. The 2- and 4-Year Florida College Plans allow families to save for college in a more affordable manner to making saving simple and accessible.
The Open Enrollment for Florida PrePaid runs from October 15 through February and for the third consecutive year, prices are remaining low. In fact, this year Florida Prepaid offers a variety affordable options that fit within any family budget starting at less than $47 per month.
Since my daughter is currently enrolled in advanced placement courses, she is earning college credits in high school and in her later high school years, my daughter will dual-enroll to earn additional college credits during high school which will hopefully lessen her college course load once she attends university whether it’s one of Florida’s prestigious universities or another university out of state.
Since my husband and I didn’t take advantage of the Florida Prepaid Plans when our daughter was a newborn, we are building our Florida Prepaid plans a little late in the game. That’s why we feel the 1-Year Florida University Plan is the most affordable and manageable choice for our family.
1-Year Florida University Plan offers an opportunity to purchase one year, or 30 credit hours, at a time according to our budget and timeline without feeling the pressure of having to buy all four years at once. The plan also allows multiple purchasers to buy a plan for the same child. So now we can team up with other family members to help pay for our daughter’s higher education. For example, we can ask Grandma to buy one year and we purchase another and one child can have up to FOUR 1-Year Florida University Plans.
However families choose to save or whichever Florida Prepaid Plan you choose, remember to use this Open Enrollment period to learn more and start saving for college and take advantage of my exclusive Run DMT promo code to save 50% off the application fee (a $25 savings) when you enroll BLOG1617!
