My Family at the Fort

During spring break, my family and I took a road trip up north to St. Augustine to explore to the Castillo de San Marcos in the oldest city in the U.S.

From start to finish, Denise is Run DMT, a Tampa Bay marathon mom on the run trying to maintain an easy pace through it all between races and raising three beautiful, brilliant children (ages 13, 9, 4). In 2007, I discovered a passion for running and I'm currently training for a seventh marathon as well as a variety of other races. In my spare time, I founded Tampa Bay Bloggers, a hyperlocal blogging network.

Wow! Lots of awesome photos! My favorite is the one of your daughter’s adorable face at the other end of what appears to be the barrel of a cannon. Great shots Denise!
Come on over and link your WW post up when you have some time. Have a great day!

I think we have some of the same pictures from when my girls were that age. When Brian was little, his family would do a few days in Disney and week on Mad Beach, and he remembers going to Fort DeSoto for visits. Now that we have moved to his family’s vacation town, we can go whenever we want – which means we rarley do. Why does it always seem to work out that way? But we certainly take out of towners to the Fort and we have “hiked” the nature trails there with our girls.

We visited this several years ago on a trip to Florida. Loved it! Loved St. Augustine with its rich history. It was actually the first place where my boys encountered the ocean. We didn’t see the soldiers though — that would have been terrific!

    Happy SITS Saturday!
