Taking a Holiday with Madeleine

Madeleine Peyroux keeps slipping into The Coffee House on XM and every time I hear her haunting voice, my mind slips away which isn’t the safest thing to do while operating a motor vehicle.

Her soft, sultry enigmatic sound reminds me of Billie Holiday and it’s as if she is channeling Ms. Holiday’s spirit.  Her jazzy, bluesy style makes me want to curl up on the couch and sip a glass of wine while my mind drifts away to another era.

Wow! They do sound similar. Have never heard of the first girl though. Definitely lounging on the sofa kinda music.

Hope you are having a great Monday!

I love this kind of music. I don’t listen to it very often but it’s excellent. They sure do sound alike. I love Billie Holiday. Never heard of Madeline but she is good. Thanks for sharing this. Have a great week ahead 🙂

I was raised on Billy Holiday and Sarah Vaughn, and really loved discovering Madeline a few years ago, completely by accident. She’s great.
You might want to look up Lorez Alexandria, she’s a great vocalist in the tradition of Billy and Sarah.
    Enjoy!
