Spamilton: A Hilarious Hamilton Paraody

Disclaimer: I received tickets to Spamilton as an opportunity through the Tampa Bay Bloggers and the Straz Center for the purpose of this review. The opinions shared are my own.

Take everything you love about Hamilton, mix it with all the charm you love about musical theater with a shmear of some healthy roasting and the results will produce Spamilton.

Spamilton

Using the most notable melodies of Hamilton, Spamilton hilariously spoofs its Broadway superstar half-brother and pokes fun at its megastar creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

With the help of your favorite Hamilton hits, Spamilton shares a brief bio of Lin-Manuel Miranda and how Hamilton came to be. Through this clever Hamilton parody musical comedy, the production also explains how one show’s success redefined Broadway.

The cast is made of up only seven players including the musical director who jumps in to sing his parody solo. The spot-on Hamilton impersonations and vocal talents combined with superb comedic timing will have you in stitches.

As fast-paced as Hamilton (possibly even a faster pace as Spamilton runs about 75 minutes long), Spamilton delivers so many lyrical one-liners which are often lost in the roars of the laughter. I honestly need to see this fast-paced ingenious comedic musical again because it is that funny and entertaining!

But you don’t need an uber Hamilfan to enjoy Spamilton. For the true long-time musical theater and Broadway fans, Spamilton pokes fun at your favorite Tony-award winning shows as well as your favorite Great White Way heavy hitters. The impersonations will blow you away! Just you wait…Just you wait…

Don’t throw away your SHOT to see Spamilton!

There are less two weeks left to experience this side-splitting parody at the Jaeb Theater at the Straz Center now until Sunday, May 12.
