Fall in Florida

We’re into the second week of November and autumn has finally arrived in Tampa Bay.  A Florida fall consists of much cooler weather with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the lower 50s.

And if you’re very observant, you’ll start to see some leaves turn colors.

It always makes me sad when the cypress trees in my neighborhood turn shades of brown.

Once the cypress trees begin to go brown, they lose their leaves quickly and their drab gray branches make the trees appear dead.

I wouldn’t mind barren trees if they were covered in white snow.  Well, I would mind the snow, but at least the cypress trees wouldn’t look so lifeless.

I miss the green already.  Is it too early to put up my Christmas tree?

I visited a friend last Saturday. Her neighbor had a tree up, in the window, lights a flashin’ already, so I guess it’s not too early (although it is for me). I like the changing colors of the leaves, but I agree about the trees appearing dead. Makes me appreciate their fullness come spring.

Sounds a little similar to autumn in LA – ripped off! At least we get lots of sunshine.

I didn’t know cypresses lose their leaves. Learn something knew every day, huh?

My neighbours already have their outside christmas lights up! So perhaps it’s not too soon for a christmas tree! 😉

Thanks for taking part in the Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge!

That’s ridiculous about the Cypress trees!!! I’m considering putting Christmas up early in our house too. I’ve already put up my snowflake window clings. :/ In my defense, the children BEGGED me too… didn’t help I had them in a grocery bag ready to roll in plain sight though. OOPS.

Denise, these are great! I’m going to sound like a total idiot, but I didn’t think you guys would have such vibrant changing of leaves! lol
Thanks for joining us in the Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge. I hope you’ll be back again on Friday for our new theme, white. Have a great day!
