Disclaimer: My family and I received one-day admission and media perks to SeaWorld to experience SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular in exchange for my honest review. The opinions and photos shared are my own.
Visiting SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular has become one of our favorite October pastimes and Halloween traditions over the years. My kids always look forward to dressing up and experiencing SeaWorld in costume.
Since we arrived around 1:00, we dove right into the Waves of Trick-or-Treat Fun. This was the first year my three year old son truly understood the trick-or-treating process, although he didn’t want to wear his airplane costume until we finished trick-or-treating.
For the event, my oldest daughter borrowed my Finn costume and my youngest daughter borrowed her sister’s old devil angel costume. I love that we recycle costumes and enjoy them more than once.
We strolled our way through the Waves of Trick-or-Treat Fun until we reached Penelope’s Party Zone at the Bayside Stadium. There Liam and Emmalynn played the sea turtle adventure game on the oversized computers while Allana made a cat craft, but I couldn’t resist dancing the cupid shuffle with Shamu. Liam also enjoyed the coloring station.
Once everyone had their fill of fun at Penelope’s Party Zone, we followed the trick-or-treat trail to the Sweet Treat Decorating spot. Since the cookies were large, I only purchased two for my kids to share. Between all the sweets, I wanted to avoid a sugar meltdown.
Thankfully, SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular also offers sugar alternatives to avoid a sugar overload, like Pop Chips.
I loved the newly added hand sanitizing stations which stood along the trick-or-treat trail because sometime germs can be scary. With these hand sanitizing stations positioned near each candy spot, my kids could combat germs and clean their hands before digging into the candy.
Also new this year, SeaWorld added presented wildlife visiting stations and photo opportunities to offer guests a chance to interact with their animal trainers.
Although the birds and animals were interesting, Emmalynn found the other creatures and characters that roamed through SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular far more entertaining. She loved chatting, interacting and taking photos with them all.
After we finished the Waves of Trick-or-Treat Fun, Liam decided to fly through the rest of the park. Riding the train and rollercoasters definitely ended a fun day on a sugar high note.
There’s only weekend left (October 26-27) to enjoy this a family-friendly event, so don’t let SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular slip away! SeaWorld’s silly, not-so-scary Spooktacular Halloween fun is included with a one-day admission and takes place from 12-8 p.m. To purchase tickets and explore SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular, visit here.
