Music Monday: (I’ll Be Running ‘Til) Love Runs Out

Music MondayFour weeks ago, I kicked off my Chicago Marathon training, with a 10 mile bridge run.  On Saturday, I began my NYC Marathon journey with a 12 week run. As you can imagine, with three marathons in seven weeks this fall, there will be a lot of running in my future.

I’ll be doin’ this, if you had a doubt,
‘Til the love runs out, ’til the love runs out.

As we ran our slow, easy 12 mile run, Daffodil and I talked marathon training plans and the best way to combat the heat while training the summer months. We both feel like we need to do something different this time around. We discussed the Chicago Marathon Training Plans from NikeHanson Plan, the Galloway Method, MAF heart rate plan, The Kastor-Asics Plan (which I loved) and the good, the bad and the ugly multiple 20 miler runs that most plans make you do. For us, we feel like that is overkill since we know we can run 20 miles.

But what marathon training plan should we follow? Until I figure it out, I’ll be running ‘til the love runs out.

I got my mind made up, man, I can’t let go.
I’m killing every second ’til it saves my soul.
(Ooh) I’ll be running, (Ooh) I’ll be running,
‘Til the love runs out, ’til the love runs out.
And we’ll start a fire, and we’ll shut it down,
‘Til the love runs out, ’til the love runs out.

And we’ll feel alright, and we’ll feel alright,
‘Cause we’ll work it out, yes, we’ll work it out.
And we’ll start a fire, and we’ll shut it down,
‘Til the love runs out, ’til the love runs out.
‘Til the love runs out.

That is a lot of running! It is going to be so much fun though, I am excited for you! I hope you are taking some time to see the sites while you are in the different cities.

I am in awe of your marathons, lol. I’m wiped just from moving. Well not “just”, it was some legit manual labor! But you know what I mean 🙂

Wow, good-luck with the runs during the summer! I can’t even imagine what it must be like to run in Florida’s hot conditions. I struggle to breathe just thinking about it. lol Thanks for being a faithful 4M dancer! 😉

Well–run a few steps for me. I’m on my feet a lot as a nurse, but if I tried to run at this point, I think my closing in on fifty year old ankles and knees would tell me to eff off and die in no uncertain terms as they gave up the ghost and sent me crashing to the floor. I’ve always worked jobs where I had to be on my feet.
One of my co-workers wore a pedometer and calculated that we walk around 3 miles a day on our job.
I work out in the pool, myself.
