Iron Girl Half Marathon happens this Sunday in Clearwater. I’ve trained as best as I could. Could I have trained better, harder with more hills? Perhaps, but I think Sarasota Half Marathon counts for something.
I pushed my sprints.
I’ve made time for my running.
I ate as well as I could despite all the Easter candy.
That’s all behind me. This Sunday, it’s go time. I will beat my Iron Girl time from two years ago by at least 15 minutes.
Those bridges don’t scare me! I survived the Big Mama Bridge of Sarasota!
Bring on the bridges!
And after I show those bridges who’s boss, I’ll wear this Iron Girl Clearwater Causeway bridge boasting medal proudly!
Because the essence of Iron Girl is about boasting pushing yourself beyond the limits with Iron Girl grace. Bridges are just the beginning.
And so is Clearwater.
I am a (wild) Iron Girl.
What’s moving you and pushing you beyond the limits this week?
For Music Mondays, I’m now teaming up with my good friend and fellow Marathon Mama, Chrissy.

Ahhhh, I haven’t been running at all since the Sarasota Half Marathon! I’m going to be mostly walking the Iron Girl 5K, and it will still be a great time I know. My very first “official” 5K ever was the Iron Girl 5K many years ago that I walked with a friend. That was my first road race ever also! See you there 🙂
I am super excited about the Iron Girl Half! It will be my first Iron Girl event. I’m no longer afraid of the bridges since I’ve been going out there two times a week for a few weeks now and running bridge repeats. Bring. It. On. I PR’d at Sarasota (by over 12 minutes!) so I don’t think there will be a new PR this weekend but I’ll enjoy every minute of it!
This looks very challenging, but I know the kind of stuff you’re made of. Best of luck to you and thanks for dancing with the 4M crew on Monday’s Music Moves Me!
Oh I really like this song! Thanks for introducing it to me today. I really wish I had signed up for an Iron Girl race. Next year for sure. Good luck with your race!
I’ll be there for the 5k since we’re doing DIvas on the 28th!
I wish I could run, but just walking to my house to the street makes me put a hurtin on my back, but my goal is one step at a time, but my goal for this year is to stop pushing the pain aside, and fix the dam thing, and I would like to start riding my bike first. I dream about riding. Dave and I use to ride our bikes around the river every weekend, and now I haven’t done that since 2007 🙁 I really miss it. I envy you my friend. Great song picks. These are not so much the beat & melody, but the words are so meaningful! Thanks for sharing.
I am running the half on Sunday too. I haven’t committed to the bridge work as much as I could have, but I am still running it hard. My first Iron Girl! So excited!!! Good Luck to you.
I know I’ve said it a million times (give or take) but you are my HERO!! You GO! And I LOVE all your song choices, too! 🙂
I have honestly never hear of any of these songs, but they were neat. Good luck in the Iron Girl. I’m sure you do excellent!
I’ll be volunteering at aide station 1 and I hope you have a great race!
Good luck on Sunday!
It’s fun to look back and see how well you did and find the courage to keep pushing.
