Pushing the Limits Push-up Challenge

As I push closer to forty, I worry if my arms tell my true age.  Do my saggy arms greet others before I actually wave hello?

Well, it’s time to say GOOD RIDDANCE to jelly arms!

In our quest to be hip and fit moms, Running Betty and Run DMT have teamed up to present our readers with the ultimate challenge.  During the month of July, we’re pushing the limits with our push-up challenge.  Our goal: 100 push-ups before the end of July.

With help of hundredpushups.com, this goal can be  painfully easily achieved.

From hundredpushups.com

Push ups are one of the basic and most common exercises for the human body. Push ups are not only great for your chest, but do a tremendous job of defining your abs, triceps, shoulders and torso.  Your core strength will also go through the roof too!

Hundredpushups.com offers a week-by-week plan to help make this an attainable goal.  Commit to 30 minutes three days a week and you will be on your way to one lean mean, hot momma machine.

Are you up for the challenge?  If so, drop and give me twenty ten five two and sign your name in blood Mr. Linky to commit to the challenge.  Also, add a comment to this post with your link so other readers can visit your blog and support you through out the challenge.

We would love for you to help spread the word about our “Pushing the Limits Challenge” by sharing it with your readers.   Add our “Pushing the Limits” bloggie button to your site and link back here.

Funny! I just read where doing pushups is better for your body than crunchies! Yesterday I began and well… let’s just say it was quite a challenge to get thru my 2nd set of 10! Oy!

I’m not a mom, so I’ll watch you guys from afar.

    Good luck!

Oh man I am seriously thinking about this. I have been doing the 30 day shred videos for over 30 days and I can still barely do 5 consecutive man pushups. I so suck at them. Hmm maybe this means I really need to do it.

I really should do this… it makes me very nervous however.. but I remember in High School we would do 100 push ups every day! I have got to be able to do this!

If I start today I may complete 100 by then!!! Seriously, manly pushups are tough, but they do give you guns.

Thanks for swinging by my blog.

I don’t know if I can do the pushups (due to my fibromyalgia) but I’ll certainly add your button to promote it.

Now, don’t be jealous of me, but thanks to a 40-pound, 40-inch-tall 3 yr old (!) who still “needs” me to pick him up and carry him at times (which is all I can handle for upper-body exercise due to the aforementioned fibromyalgia), I have awesome wicked arms. My only good feature. Now, if we were to get a 100+ lunge/squat/sit-up thing going, I’m fully on board! But I’ll think about the push-up thing. =)

Watched the video, and no, I didn’t notice the green toenails and wasn’t distracted by the sexy pajamas. 🙂 Have to admit I’m competitive though, so I dropped right next to the computer and did 60 girly pushups. I will also admit that my triceps are now burning and I’m sweating. Got to admit I’m not a fan of girly things (since that tends to mean easier), so from here on out, all of my pushups will be manly!

DO you know how long its been since I have done a push up…I thought you were talking about eating those yummy popsicle pushups…not actual physical labor. 🙂 I’ll tweet ya

Good for you for promoting push ups. When I started working out w/my trainer last summer, I could only do the “girlie” push ups. She made me work on them every week and I am happy to report that it took me about 6 months but I now can do manly pushups w/proper form. I was so proud of myself b/c I have never be able to do them.

    Hey, Denise!

You know I am always up for a challenge–I’m in! I will be doing my push-ups without the webcam! Admittedly, I would not have been so inspired had it not been for your brave performance of 30 push-ups.
