Lunchtime Sunshine with Opal Apples

In our house, one of our favorite go to snacks are apples. Like many fresh fruits, apples are the perfect portable read-to-eat snack. For me, I especially love slices of cold, crisp apples served with a schmear of sunbutter.

However, if you’re a busy mom on the run like me, sometimes that sliced apple doesn’t get eaten in one go when you’re pulled into so many different directions. How many times have you sliced up an apple or bitten into a juicy apple only not finish it because you’re off finishing something else?

Guilty as charged.

I have been known to bite into an apple and then forget to finish it. (I know. Who forgets to finish food?)  Then, when I remember to finish my favorite snack, I sadly find my apple all brown and not so appetizing anymore.

That’s where Opal Apples have your back by saving your favorite snack. Opal Apples are the first non-GMO non-browning apples. How about them apples?

These crisp, gorgeous sunny fruits are super sweet and tangy with a faint orange taste. And because Opals stay fresh for long periods of time, they are the perfect addition to any salad.

Opal Apples

Opal apples are truly delicious, but I honestly love that I can pack a sliced Opal with a serving of sunbutter in my kid’s lunchbox and it won’t turn brown by lunchtime. Who am I kidding? This might be MY favorite snack and if my kids’ are lucky, I might share the Opal apples with them.

My grandmother taught us to slice apples with peanut butter and provolone cheese slices. I also like them chopped in cubes with nuts and raisins.

My favorite way to eat an apple is to pick it off the tree (from the neighbors house he doesn’t know) and polish it a bit and then just bite right into it.

I love to eat apple slices with peanut or almond butter! I love the fact that these don’t brown! I would be able to slice them up and take them to work for a quick and easy snack!!

I love apples as a snack, but also on salads, and I feel like I never finish them before they brown. I’m SO intrigued by these!

Eating apples with homemade sunflower butter is my favorite way to eat any apple. I cut mine in half, use a melon baller to remove the seeds and top with the nut nutter. YUM
