Over two decades ago, I made the decision to eat healthier.

As I started on a path towards eating  healthier meals and aggressively reading labels, I steered away from heavily processed food and GMOs. I purchased organic produce and meats and natural foods when it was feasible and didn’t break the bank. I also learned to cook foods from scratch and began eating “more clean” before that was even a popular term or notion.

Over the past decades, as these ideas became more mainstream and consumers began demanding organic products in their supermarkets, it became easier to find my favorite organic products on the shelves of my local supermarket rather than making a special trip to a health food market. Although these products were more accessible, unfortunately the organic and natural products were typically priced much higher than the conventional brands.
