If you’ve been following Run DMT for some time, then you know…

I heart Skinnytaste.

When Skinnytaste announced the release of her cookbook, The Skinnytaste Cookbook, I salivated with excitement. I couldn’t wait to feast my eyes on the beautiful food photos and sink my teeth into her tasty skinnylicious recipes.

With a rungry Skinnytaste appetite, I pre-ordered an advance copy and earned extra recipes not featured in the cookbook. Can you taste my excitement?!

The Skinnytaste Cookbook

If you love Skinnytaste, then you will love getting your hands on a hardcover of The Skinnytaste Cookbook. As stated on Amazon “The Skinnytaste Cookbook features 150 amazing recipes: 125 all-new dishes and 25 must-have favorites.”

In the Introduction, Gina shares her story and the simplicity of slimming down some of her family’s favorite dishes.  In “The Skinny Basics”, she debunks the typical excuses and shares her tips to turn bad habits into healthy ones.

The Table of Contents outlines the chapters and courses in perfect order from breakfast recipes entitled “Sunny Mornings” to “Skinny Sweet Tooth” for dessert recipes. There’s even a chapter named “Meatless Mains” to help plan some delicious meals for Meatless Mondays and incorporate additional delicious vegetarian dishes into your diet.

When I received The Skinnytaste Cookbook, I made the promise to try at least one new recipe a week and so far,  I stuck to that goal. This week is no exception. With the A1A Marathon a week away, I decided to add lots of lean protein and complex carbs to our dinner menu.

Here’s our heavy on the low fat Skinnytaste Dinner Menu:

Sunday –  White Chicken Chili with Maple Syrup Cornbread

Meatless Monday – Greek Salad Sandwiches with Low Fat Potato Salad

Taco Tuesday – Banging Baked Fish Tacos

Wednesday – Skinnytaste’s Fettuicine Alredo with Chicken and Broccoli (The Skinnytaste Cookbook)

Thursday – Skinnytaste’s Orecchiette with Chicken Sausage, Baby Kale and Bell Pepper  (The Skinnytaste Cookbook) – A delicious repeat!

Friday – Pizza and a Mixed Greens Salad

By cooking more meals at home for dinner. With work I sometimes make excuses to why I cant cook, or I will make the same thing over and over. I want to adventure out and experiment more with healthy options and fun dishes.

I love Skinnytaste! I have many favorite recipes from the website. One of my favorite things about them, besides being delicious, is they make great leftovers. Making meals that make leftovers is a big part of staying healthy for me!

I LOVE Skinnytaste! I have been using a copy from the library and would LOVE my own copy!! My current favorite cookbook (besides my library copy of Skinnytaste) is Well Fed.

  4. Kim says:

I’m a huge fan of Skinnytaste! Most of my families favorite lighter-side recipes have come from the Skinnytaste website. I relied heavily on the Internet when searching for light meal ideas when I lost 70 pounds last year. I’d love to get my hands on the full cookbook to help me shed these last 30 pounds, all while keeping my family full and satisfied!

  5. Christa Jones says:

    Your menu plan looks great!!

I love the Skinnytaste website, use it often for my meals. I’m making her Loaded Cauliflower Mash this week actually.

I would love to have a copy of her cookbook!

OOH! I need this! I have so many SkinnyTaste recipes on Pinterest, but I really am old school and prefer reading and looking at print cookbooks. They just make me happy and cook and eat more consciously. (You would not BELIEVE how many I own….)

  8. sarah says:

I absolutely need to start cooking more at home. The hubs and I eat out several times per week, usually just for convenience sake. I need some delicious and quick recipes to help us get healthier!

  9. Amy says:

I am due with my first baby in March, so I plan to make a bunch of freezer meals for when she gets here! I actually made two skinny taste recipes last week!
